WPA REGIONAL TOURNAMENT: Peters Township HS - March 7, 2026

11 Odyssey of the Mind Teams Advance to the State Competition!

Eleven amazing teams from Upper St. Clair earned top spots at the annual Western Pennsylvania Odyssey of the Mind Regional Tournament. These teams will advance to advance to the state finals on March 28, 2026, at Pocono Mountain East Campus in Swiftwater, PA..

In total, 22 Upper St. Clair teams, comprising 136 students with representation from all six of the district’s schools, competed against teams from across the region. The regional tournament was held on Saturday, March 7 at Peters Township High School.

The following teams are advancing to the Pennsylvania Odyssey of the Mind State Finals:

Division 1 (grades 3-5)

The team from Baker Elementary School that solved the Technical  problem earned second place. Team members include Jackson Beck, Max Allen, Chase Ingalise, Harrison Snavely, Cora Dunkin, Erika Bonnell, Lily Wang. This team is coached by Betsy Allen, Nicole Beck, and Kelly Ingalise.

The team from Streams Elementary School that solved the Classics problem earned fourth place. Team members include Oli Kruk, Hank Bailey, Lainey Maxwell, Jameson Lin, Wushuang Shi, Will Cheyne. This team is coached by Kelli Maxwell and Crystal Bailey

The team from Boyce Middle School that solved the Performance problem earned second place. Team members include Josie Hermoni, Abby Elders, Jackson Hollihan, and Carter Kaldon.This team is coached by Sarah Hollihan and Lorelei Elders.

Division 2 (grades 6-8)

The team from Boyce Middle School that solved the Vehicle problem earned first place. Team members include Julia Ross, Roman Duffy, Ben Caesar, Cole Hirzel, Ellie Finnegan, Emily Michalak, and Quin Thorp. This team is coached by Brett Duffy and Nadine Michalak.

The team from Fort Couch Middle School that solved the Classics problem earned first place. Team members include Ava Fingal, Drew Holzer, Sophia Lee, Caroline Fingal, Keira Mycoff, Rehana Rai, and Lydia Calkins. This team is coached by Josh Mycoff and Doug Calkins.

The team from Fort Couch Middle School that solved the Classics problem earned third place. Team members include Avery Metcalf, Lula Griffin, Elliot Sams, Kendall Zielinski, and Penelope Collins.. This team is coached by Sarah Sams and Jacob Collins.

The team from Fort Couch Middle School that solved the Performance problem earned Second place. Team members include Molly Guarino, Keirsten King, Sarah Sakowitz, Elise Mostowy, and Cassidy King. This team is coached by Dawn Mostowy

Division 3 (grades 9-12)

The team from Upper St. Clair High School that solved the Technical problem earned second. Team members include Nigel Bailey, Thea Scheuerle, Ashwin Vasudevan, Parker Sams and Daphne Collins. This team is coached by Sarah Sams and Jacob Collins.

The team from Upper St. Clair High School that solved the Classics problem earned first place. Team members include Lydia Sliski, Austin Szpara, Scarlett Burgess, Enoch Katru, Seth Pedretti, Violet McLeod, Luciana Putorti. This team is coached by Kyle Burgess and Kristy Szpara

The team from Upper St. Clair High School that solved the Classics problem earned third place. Team members include Octavia Long, Hadley Maxwell, Nimisha Simhadri, Lee Miller, Vienna Eisinger, Kayden Dunkin, Ava Parajuli. This team is coached by Vonya Eisinger.

The team from Upper St. Clair High School that solved the Performance problem earned second place. Team members include Daniyal Badaruddin, Artie McCallum, Kurt Baran, Preston McLeod, Ian Putorti, Geneva Eisinger, and Lauren Ginsburg. This team is coached by Dawn Predmore and Nate Eisinger.
